Hey all,

Still early in my new reef setup but eventually I will need a dose pump. As I want to keep SPS.

Can anyone recommend a good doser? One that won't break the bank.

I'm looking at jabao DP4 but not sure on the quality? I have a Jabao powered wave maker and it is great but with a doser I want to be sure it will hold up.

What are halls thoughts?

FYI apex / Neptune is just way to pricy for me . No way am I going to spend 3-400 nor will my wife ever let me.

Ive read mixed reviews on the Jaebo doser. Lots of claims that pumps have failed very quickly. Maybe Jaebo has gotten the kinks worked out. Just a thought.
Good luck.

See about availability of spare parts if you're worried. The value on the DP4 is crazy-good at the price they are selling though, if you are budget conscious.

There are much nicer dosers out there, but it's mostly in the interface differences...though a few have pumps that are heavier duty. That doesn't necessarily equate to "better" though...depends on what you want and what you can afford. :)

Consider a Reefkeeper Lite for a controller, BTW.....@ $120, you'll spend as much, or more, on power strips and timers, etc and you won't have any of the extra capabilities that a Reefkeeper (or any controller) can give you.

GHL Doser 2 Stand Alone.
Works as a doser by itself, or can be connected to a GHL Profilux controller.
Not only does it dose, but you can also hook up two level sensors, a temp sensor and magnetic stirrers.
You can get it in 2, 3, or 4 pump configs. If you start with 2 you can add more later.
In total you can control up to 16 pumps.
It's also nearly silent, doses down to .1 ml and is WiFi so you can change programming, calibrate the pumps, etc from any device.
And you will be hard pressed to find anything else that's built as well as GHL equipment.

I think GHL makes the best doser aside from medical grade dosers? Jebao DP4 seems more practical in terms of affordability. Plenty of people have reviews and instructions on youtube. Best thing about the DP4, imo, is the fact they have a video on how to open the case up for repairing or replacing bad pumps. Might even be able to upgrade pumps, i've yet to look into it.

Here some screen grabs of my GHL doser 2
It's such a worry free unit and it can sit up out of the way and I log on to its wifi connection and adjust it while sitting on the couch.
The only thing to remember with a doser is to check the calcium output line for any build up that might block the line.
