Hello everyone, I got a gift card to best buy from the 'rents and I need an opinion from some photography afficianados. I know nothing about cameras except that mine from my iPhone always suck so can anyone tell me if this camera would be good for some decent shots of corals and fish? Mostly corals since I have a few frags I need to trade/sell. I'll post the link below and hopefully the site won't be a conflict of interests for the mods. If this one is trash then I would greatly appreciate some suggestions for cameras that BB sells. Thanks, Britt

I'm not much of a educated camera guy, but one thing I did notice in the description was the ability to focus with-in less than a 1/2" for those macro shots.
Do you know if you can set the white balance manually ( or auto) with this camera?

Idk but that's a great price pls let me know how it works out. I've been intrested in buying a camera myself.

I don't know about that camera but you want something that will record in RAW so that you can easily edit your photos. Being able to adjust your white balance makes a huge difference. The vast majority of the great pics you see have been edited and I don't mean turning up the saturation to make the coral look fake but just simply making adjustment to that the photo looks as the coral does in real life.

Couldn't find a user manual so not sure. I posted a question on their ask board so we'll see what they can tell me. I would assume it would work well for macro shots with the decent amount of optical zoom it has.
