actually i just googled what i thought it would be called lol "flat worm" is this just a harmless grazer?

+1 on a polyclad flat worm. i had one, i took him out. They crawl into the shells of invertebrates and eat them. I couldn't keep a turbo snail alive to save my life until i got rid of this thing. I might be wrong but i thing if they get ripped apart they release some bad stuff into your tank. It's been awhile since i had this.

I don't think they release anything, it's just that if you pull it in half the other half will heal itself and continue on it's way.

ahhh what the heck, after the first guy told me it was ok I through him back in and I never looked at this thread again until now! what should I do to get him out? I have so many snails (or I did) and 2 clams...

on another note it's nice to see that people from reef2reef get vicious on call of duty black ops (Paul_PSU) lol

Great stress release...lol

On the flatworm, since you still have some snails it will go after them. Honestly if you don't have any left just go and get a few and then sit back and wait for the lights to go off. I just kept an eye out with a red flashlight when the lights were out and I would find it draped over a snail shell. I had some tongs and would just hurry and pull it out of the water real quick snail shell and all. I got both the ones in my tank that way. I had a clam but it was up on the rocks and hadn't got to it yet.

lol yea u slaughtered me on a kill cam but that's ok I'll get you back eventually (jiffyf)

but I'm always stareing in the tank at night and I haven't seen him since that day. I caught alot of local gulf snails and they are all living it up in my gf's tank but in mine they were dieing left and right. I figured it was due to not enough dead critters for them to scavenge on, but obviously not. I recently added 10 small nassarius snails and probably 6 or 7 stomatellas and haven't seen one... and I have an order of snail coming in on wednesday, so I really want him gone..

you think if I cut up a turbo snail in the shell and toss him in there when the lights go off, would that lure him out?

setup some kind of trap maybe. that would probably lure him out though.

bottle trap? and i think i have way too many scavengers (conchs, olive snails, speghetti worms, hermits, cleaner shrimp, star fish) lol i think they would eat everything before he even knew it was in the tank..

anyone else have any ideas??? i went up to marine warehouse, coral corral, and FAOIS.. and the i saw a box up there salifert flat worm exit and the guy from coral corral told me that it only works for the lil flat worms...

awesome I was just about to leave to take my dad to dinner for fathers day and I glanced in the tank and in the very front there he was in the same spot where I scooped him up before snacking on some of my new dwarf ciriths. he is trying to hide in the chunk of cup coral, too bad I don't give 2 ishes about it. so I think im just going to toss it all out instead of picking him out and most likely leaving some of his body behind.
