so I am looking to replace my heater in my Nuvo 40. Right now I am running a Finnex HMX I got it one month ago and I have it set to 78 degrees and the display says the tank temp is 78 but after putting 2 thermometers in the tank the water temp is only 73 degrees. if it was only one degrees off I would keep it but 5 degrees off is crazy. It's not like it 5 years old. it's onlyONE month old so looking to replace it and looking for so advice what's a good heater? and ones to say away from? Thanks all for the advice

I would email finnex, that sounds like you have an issue and they are really good about taking care of there products:)

I was thinking to talk to them but I read on there website that you have to ship it back to the company which I don't mind if they will fix the problem but in the mean time I would have no heater. So I want to grab a spare for the time being I also don't want to buy A Junk heater as a back up something, that has good reviews would be nice

When I was looking last year my choices were Eheim or Finnex. I did not want glass and I want a heat that I could control with my controller. I went with Finnex. I did a bunch of reading and if were going to have a back up of a different brand I would go with Eheim.
