Hey All!
Chores are done and it’s absolutely dumping rain here. Went to the LFS for water only but ended up getting a NICE , fully encrusted, 2” plug of “Jedi Mind Trick” Monti for $50. I mounted it on my false wall. Once it recovers from transport, I’ll get a picture.

Oh, that's a pretty piece! I have two of them. After the frag encrusted the rock, I snapped off the frag plug so I could have two frags for the price of one!

Good morning
The 55 has come clear overnight so I guess it is working.
I am in the fish room cleaning the return pumps. Just shot water all over the floor. Turn the pumps down before you unplug them.

What a great hobby. Sometimes you sit and watch the pretty things swim and sway. Sometimes it's like fighting a forest fire. It's very smoky in here this morning.
Every time I try to bring my phosphates down to a new level the whole system goes south. It does weird bacterial things like grow cyano and brown goo.
I have run it at 0.25, 0.1 and now I am down to 0.05. I hope this is the last time.
Next I will spend weeks getting the sulfur denitrator going. Then I suspect I will go through all of this again withdrawing the NoPox. My tank will have to go to AA meetings.
I wonder if I can repurpose the biopellet reactor for GFO?
Sigh

Good Morning! I woke up to my daughter telling me she accidentally broke a plate all over the floor, but didn't have time to clean it up because she was just leaving the house, my dog barking frantically at nothing, and getting ready to meet a doctor about operating on my hip. Worst of all, the coffee is not ready. I am definitely looking forward to the arrival tomorrow morning! :)

Good morning everyone
A little worried about our dog. He usually sleeps most of the day but with house guests all weekend he was up walking around a lot and was a little anxious. Then last night I noticed him not walking right and had a little hunchback. He has a herniated disc and acts like this when it is bothering him. But this time he also is having a hard time standing up after laying down, and at times is just turning around in a tight circle in the middle of the floor. Then kept lifting his left paw up. Stagers like he’s drunk when first starts to walk. Even fell over a couple times. My daughter thinks he may have had a stroke. His back is definitely hurting him cause he cried out when touched. I have extra pills from his last back episode so I started him on those again. 3 different one, pain, muscle relaxer and anti inflammatory. Not sure if it is just his back or what is up. He is just not himself. Need to take him to the vet today.

Good morning everyone, not a lot to say from a boring relaxing weekend. Mornings are never boring though.

I despise my lfs. I need to take pictures of the bimacultated anthias in there. I can't tell if they have uronema or just a pink blotch showing females turning male.
That would mean 5 out of his 7 anthias are turning male and there's only 2 females. I had 3 females in the past, but they never had a pink blotch on the side.

Got attacked by sunny because I didn't give her any scrambled eggs. Hands covered in dog drool.

Ah yes, pets. We went to a new vet. We had been going to the old one more than 20 years but their heart doesn't seem to be in it anymore.
Zoe had her teeth done and next is Rudy this Friday. Bear and Mia go for checkups today, Just an initial visit with the new vets. Mocha is tomorrow. We don't feel like crappy pet owners anymore.
Next is nail trims. Bears are so big none of us have the grip strength to cut them cleanly.
It's kind of worrying that they are all close to the same age physiologically because of their different sizes.
At 13 Mia is in the same condition as Zoe and Rudy who are 8, 9 and Bear who is 5. Luckily none of the have health conditions and are healthy.
We should find out about Rudys blood work today. They left a brief message that it was generally okay on Friday.

My dog's vet is probably 80 yrs old. I don't know how many years he has left. But he's like dr. doo little. You take an overly anxious dog in there and the moment he looks at them. Their butt sits and stays.

I know Bear isn't a dobie, but I can relate. This is a huge issue with dobermans, Gotta use a dremel. Regular clippers don't work well and damage easy on their nails.

I hope he's alright.
The joy and heartbreaks our pets bring us. I'm still mentally recovering from the last one we lost. She was probably 9 and had cancer everywhere. She was my mom in laws dog. Wonderful girl.
