Good Morning!

Sorry for your loss of another officer.
My best friend I grew up with is a training officer in henderson/LV nevada.
You guys stay safe and thanks for the protection and freedom!!

Yes, I'm always at a loss of a fellow brother or sister LEO or military brother or sister as well. It hurts and I've been to far too many of the funerals.

I'm sorry to read of another fallen hero.

I'm not an officer, as much as I would like to be. I know a lot of them because of my wife and one was even a groomsman in our wedding. She as been a dispatcher for almost 8 years now, and was working when it happen. Everybody in dispatch knew him well and he was one of the really good ones.

Called to have them come look at my heat pump again. It's vibrating the whole house when it runs. They just put a new compressor in it last week.
The 6th time they have been here since we moved in..
They just put a new compressor in it last week. The guy was here when it failed and went to ground. Burned the wiring harness out of it.
It is 2 years old.
Piece of junk.
10 year warranty. I am going to wear them out.

Good luck sir. Hope you sell quickly.
Thanks Capt. I'm ready for this to be done and over with. Not the hassle of buying and selling a house, but I want my 75 set up and running :D

Good morning everybody, little bit of a sad day here. We are going to a funeral for an officer today, I knew him but wasn't close. However my wife is a dispatcher and knew him well, so I am going with her. However I did hear they are doing last roll call at the funeral and that will choke you up every time.

I attend the USS Saratoga annual reunion whenever I can.

The 1st thing they do is read off the names of fellow sailors that served on her that have passed away.

After each name they ring the ships bell.

I cry my eyes out from beginning to end.

Especially when I hear a name of someone I knew and served with.

It’s an honor to be a part of something like that.

I'm sure I would too, and thank you for serving. I've listened to a few last roll calls, some for retired officers and some for lost officers and both are tough.

I never served but remember a time in Jimmy Carters presidency when the draft was being mentioned and we had to register. Iran was and still is the problem that President Carter left us. My brother laughed and said he was sure I was going to be drafted. Perhaps it would have been a good experience for a young man that had no idea about what to do with his life. I know many young men were never given the gift I have been given and for that I thank them! Today I choose to remember what my freedom and good fortune have cost others to extend that opportunity to me personally!

To those who have fallen may God grant you and your families entrance to a new world with peace everlasting. You have demonstrated that no greater love has any man or woman than those who lay down their lives in the service of others. Amen.

I once had the privilege of performing a funeral for an older member of our church. He was a vertan of WW2 and fought in Alaska. Yes the Japanese attacked Alaska and many died by freezing to death. I did really well until they fired the volley and played taps. From then only I struggled with the emotions I felt for all those of the Greatest Generation who made our world a safer place. It was a great honor to have know this man and others like him. There is such a struggle for many of them to return to life after the wars and conflicts they served in. No doubt war changes people and often the scars only scab over but fail to completely heal. What a price many have paid so many don't have to.

I am humbled by their sacrifice and lives.

Those men you speak of were my father and my uncles and their friends.
One is buried in France
My uncle was at Pearl Harbor and stepped of his ship just as the first bombs hit. He survived. He never talked about it. Never told me the name of the ship but I am sure my mom remembered.

I heard about tiger hunting in Burma with an M-1. Never about the war stuff.
