Good Morning!

Good morning... I’m still in bed ;Yawn but I need to get up and make kids breakfast and get them to school...

What’s the best way to manually get GHA off of rocks? I siphoned all loose off. A bunch has a good hold. The rocks are cemented and not removable.

Should I blackout the tank and try to kill it? Would scrubbing them in the tank with a new toothbrush work, and then siphoning?

Manual remove as much as you can with a hard toothbrush. Could try cuticle scissors on long pieces or something similar. Add many snails for the rest. Cerith are great and right themselves.

I was thinking the same with dinos . I need to find a long handle tooth brush
BTW that was a Nasa Pick

Also, do you know the cause of the gha? If po4 is to high, try lowering with gfo or phosphate rx, this will weaken the gha and make removal easier.

Not really. Snow piled everywhere. The rain has no place to go. Flood warnings.

Good morning! Yes, they are saying this could be a year as bad or worse than 93 flood. Not good.

I have not seen this much snow in along time. It's going to melt way to fast up here. Going to be a big mess. lol. :)

I used a toothbrush while running my siphon. I put a filter sock in a bucket and have a pump in the bucket and just siphon and pump water back in the tank at the same time. I get what I can with tweezers and then take the tooth brush to the rest. I got over ran with it pretty bad, did about 4 hour long sessions like this and most is gone and hasn't come back too bad. Still need to do another session.

Good morning everybody! Got our first spring storm last night and so we opened the bedroom windows and enjoyed the cool breeze and the sound of the storms. Problem is I guess the rain came in sideways and got some rain in the bedroom. Not too bad but woke up to some wet clothes and a wet pillow.

I need to get some more Ceriths I guess. I only added 8 when I started the tank. There might be one left. I’ve seen several hermits with their shells ;Dead

I’m sure it’s high phosphate and nitrate. It lacked maintenance for 3 months. I’ve slowly started stirring the sand to release stuff and and skimming like crazy.

I got the loose stuff in a similar way with a siphon leading back to the sump with a sock on the end. I guess I just need to scrub now.

Yeah, I have the same problem in my tank with everything being cemented. Technically it's 3 pieces but still would just cause a huge mess to take out.

Have you tried mechanical removal followed by Vibrant?

My tank only had a brief period of algae growth. Then it went away. I had GHA, bubble and bryopsis all in small amounts.
Kinda worried me. I even made a post about it.
I did use Vibrant but only about 4 weeks total.
I get normal green stuff on the glass and I added some macros to the tank and they grew.
so I stopped worrying about it.

It's water change day so it will get scraped today.
