Good Morning!

Bad morning here.... My 13 yo female weim jumped off the deck yesterday (it's only a foot or so of the ground) and broke either her hip or leg....there goes a bunch of money to the vet.....

Ah man, I'm sorry. Hope she will be okay.

Well she has a torn Meniscus or ACL in her knee.... Poor girl can't even put any weight on it either...
That doesn’t sound good... how do they treat that? A cast?

Pain meds to start, surgery if it doesn't get better. But surgery on a 13 yo Weim is basically not something they do very often. If the pain meds work she can stay on them indefinitely. The avg lifespan of Weimaraners is 11-12 years. She is 13 and her brother is 15 so the are on "borrowed time" so to speak. She was doing great up until this happened so we are hoping (the vet and us) that the meds will work.

Jill got her stitches out. Everything is fine. She has to wear the pillow arm sling thing another week and then can go to a regular sling. She has to go to physical therapy 2-3 times a week for 4 weeks.

Glad the dog can go on being a dog and hope she does well. Daisy and Lilly are over 16 now. White in the face.

Yeah I was there 6 months ago but with a 1 yo puppy. Tore it's back knee running from a bigger dog, it's a miniature poodle. Took it to get the knee surgery, traveling surgeon was a hack, put in 3 pins in when should have been two. Third pin looks like he took out and put back a couple times. Well a week after surgery his leg snapped while trying to sit. Was the most disgusting sound ever. Two more surgeries later he is well and back being a puppy.

Hope the meds work for your pooch, I know how much they mean to us.
