Growl Club was quite interesting. The goal is to gradually chip away at a dog's reactivity to other dogs by flooding them with lots of dogs. Dogs walking between dogs, around dogs, behind dogs. Kenzie was going nuts at first, as most of them do, but by the end she was really making progress. They have 4 trainers working with the group, keeping everything under control. It was quite a process. Lots of growling. Wait 2 more weeks, then do it again!

Sounds like an awesome program! A few of my dog clients could benefit from that. Some of them I can’t even take on walks cause if we meet another dog along the way, look out, lunge, jerk, jump and twist trying to get to that dog. Sometimes it people on bikes.

I have been amazed by these people. We had to deal with her reactivity to dogs AND people from her difficult (and mostly unknown) background. We were her 4th rescue in a year and a half, and we were probably her last chance. At first, she went through 5 weeks of weekly one-on-one instruction with just the trainer working with me/Kenzie. That really helped with the basic commands and walking at a heel, but the reactivity was still off the charts.

The support once the class finishes is mind blowing! They want every chance for you/your dog to succeed. It made me feel better that mine wasn't the only misbehaving dog in the group today! She really came a long way today and I was very proud of her. I need to start passing out some of their business cards to my neighbors for the same reason as your dog clients!

Good morning. Old guy still here and giant puppy suffering from excessive cooped up syndrome due to rain. Taking Earnest over has been pushed off until sons can get in the trucks and head for home.
Might have to go out in the rain and throw a ball today.

They need to do this for dogs and people. I am an animal lover and I don’t blame dogs for doing what they do. My son is autistic and is now permanently put off by all dogs even if they don’t bark. I can’t tell you how many times my son has been on a bike ride or walk and a person has a dog on no leash and it runs up to my son only for him to freak out and hide behind me or try to run away. Then the person tells me the dog is harmless to which I have to explain it doesn’t matter he’s scared. Like I said I like dogs and don’t have a problem with them. My hats off to you for training your dog.

They need to do this for dogs and people. I am an animal lover and I don’t blame dogs for doing what they do. My son is autistic and is now permanently put off by all dogs even if they don’t bark. I can’t tell you how many times my son has been on a bike ride or walk and a person has a dog on no leash and it runs up to my son only for him to freak out and hide behind me or try to run away. I have a grandson on the spectrum. It's unfortunate that people aren't more understanding...I think people could use more training than dogs!

There was a lady thank god she moved that lived in the duplex behind our house that had 2 dog and no control over them at all. They were all over our yard and the neighbors. In effect the dog was terrorizing my son. I tried to tell her nicely a few times and I finally told her get your dang dog out of my yard and keep it out. I was about ready to start looking into who to contact to complain then she moved out.
