Good morning, found out over the weekend my thunder fearing dog wants to kill fireworks. We were hoping she would just keep calm. Most part she did. Took her outside and she became a warmonger.
Made grilled salmon on the 4th for the inlaws and got the cold shoulder. What a day.
My son got to see fireworks from friday night to last night. He wasn't sure how to act. He kept laughing at sunny because she was being overly protective.

I'll go feed my fish now, make breakfast and have my coffee. Enjoy the day everyone!

Stayed up too late with the kiddo and SO watching Cruella. I must admit, I didn’t expect to like it and walked away loving it. Probably my favorite live action Disney movie.

Watermelon Summer Salad​

We loved the refreshing taste of this summer salad. We're not going to lie. At first, the combination of ingredients had us intrigued, but they all work together. It's surprisingly fresh and delicious. Soaking cucumbers in the vinegar mixture is strong. But once they are mixed with the sweet watermelon and tomatoes it balances flavors out. We love the slightly salty Feta cheese. If you love salt on your watermelon you'll love the combination.

Ingredients​

• 1
  large cucumber, sliced
• 1/4 c
  apple cider vinegar
• 2 Tbsp
  olive oil, extra virgin
• 3 c
  watermelon, cut into small size chunks
• 3 large
  tomatoes, cut into small size chunks (same size as the watermelon)
• 1/4 - 1/3 c
  red wine vinaigrette dressing
• 1 pinch
  sea salt (large)
• ·
  black pepper
• 1 Tbsp
  sugar
• 1/3 - 1/2 c
  Feta cheese (tomato and basil flavored)
• 
  Add Ingredients to Grocery List

How to Make Watermelon Summer Salad​

This recipe calls for tomato and basil-flavored Feta. If you can't find that, regular Feta will work.

1. 
   Peel cucumber and slice in thin slices. Place in a bowl with a tight-fitting lid. Add vinegar and olive oil. Stir until combined. Add a couple of dashes of pepper. Close the lid and shake the bowl to distribute mixture and pepper. Refrigerate overnight.
2. 
   The next day, cut watermelon and tomatoes into small chunks. Place in a large bowl.
3. 
   
4. 
   With a slotted spoon, strain cucumber from vinegar mixture onto cutting board. Discard vinegar mixture.
5. 
   Cut cucumber slices in half and add to watermelon bowl.
6. 
   
7. 
   Sprinkle sea salt and sugar over watermelon mixture; mix until well combined.
8. 
   Add dressing and a couple of dashes of black pepper; stir until combined. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

    30 minutes before serving, stir in Feta cheese.

speaking of tired...took friends and their family boating to see the fireworks last night. It was choppy 3-4’ waves when we entered the Gulf and I said to hubby that we should turn back for our guests’ comfort.
Does he listen to me?

Happy belated morning, Reef Fam ... it's 8 am somewhere, right?

Neighbor decided to throw a party last night - shooting off fireworks until 1 something in the morning.
Dogs were hyperventilating. Poor pups.

Last night my Snowstorm Clown decides to start tormenting my DaVinci clown. Leo is trying to hide but Mr. Wiggles hunts him down and pecks at him. There are some bite marks on Leo's fins. I'm fearing that I may have to get one of them out of there. I tried catching either and that is nearly impossible with two center supports in the top of the tank. Not sure what do do otherwise.... I have never had an aggressive fish before. The first two days, they looked like friends. Now it's like dodgeball in high school. If I can get one of them out, which one? The bully or the shy one? I have 4 anthias coming next month... this may get interesting.

Thankfully, that bubble coral was aiptasia free. It is providing some cover for Leo ... but Mr. Wiggles is pretty relentless.
Here is a picture of Leo hiding in the macroalgae. Mr. Wiggles is hunting for Leo in the profile bubble pic. The other is a top view of the bubble - for perspective ... that thing is about 8" long and roungly 5" wide fully opened. I'm in love with that coral.

The mouth is huge on that one! I’ve never kept a bubble coral so I had no idea. If the clownifish are new to the tank they may just be establishing their roles, who the alpha will be. Unless you have a rogue clown hell bent on the taste of blood. In that case take the aggressor out.

one daughter moved to texas now in w.va.
one son moved to kentucky
one son moved to cali
my two
one daughter and one son still live in state.
i think it bothers my wife more about the the grandkids than the kids we don't get to see.

I absolutely understand your wife (after all, we have the same selective memory brain). Our sons were in Kentucky, Nashville (at least our same state), and Maine. The Kentucky son/family just moved back to town, which is why have "temporarily" moved in with us. We see the Nashville son/family fairly often. The Maine family is tough. We haven't been up there in 2 years since that virus hit. Hopefully, late summer. It's hard not seeing the little ones.

Agreed - the little b is literally hunting Leo. The trick is catching "her". Hubby tried tonight ... caused an avalanche. I'd order @TankMatez but the soonest it would arrive is Friday. With the Tropical Storm hitting Florida, there will be delays. I expect that Leo will be toast by then. I'm going to brave the storm and get a bigger net tomorrow. Maybe hubby and I can tag team it and throw it in the SHU box. I'm guessing that the problem with Mr. Wiggles ... Ms. Wiggles? is that they are identical in size. They were introduced at the exact same time, so it should not be a turf thing. Wiggles just needs a little tude check.
I recall a year ago when Glub (tank bully) went to the hospital tank. After 3 or 4 weeks out of the big tank, Glub found her chill. IF I can catch Wiggles, it's going to get the same chance.... or else be banned to the isolation tank next to the betta fish for eternity. Maybe we'll change it's name to Wilson.
