Agreed - the little b is literally hunting Leo. The trick is catching "her". Hubby tried tonight ... caused an avalanche. I'd order @TankMatez but the soonest it would arrive is Friday. With the Tropical Storm hitting Florida, there will be delays. I expect that Leo will be toast by then. I'm going to brave the storm and get a bigger net tomorrow. Maybe hubby and I can tag team it and throw it in the SHU box. I'm guessing that the problem with Mr. Wiggles ... Ms. Wiggles? is that they are identical in size. They were introduced at the exact same time, so it should not be a turf thing. Wiggles just needs a little tude check.
I recall a year ago when Glub (tank bully) went to the hospital tank. After 3 or 4 weeks out of the big tank, Glub found her chill. IF I can catch Wiggles, it's going to get the same chance.... or else be banned to the isolation tank next to the betta fish for eternity. Maybe we'll change it's name to Wilson.

Tried to catch Wiggles .... caught Leo instead. I've got him back in the QT. Given how badly he's been fin nipped, I can observe him for a few days while I hunt Wiggles. Leo was so tired, it was an easy catch.
Chalk this up to one of those meant to be sort of bad scenarios.... I kept hearing water trickle in the sump while I was chasing fish. I thought at first that all of my chasing was pushing water into the emergency drain. When I looked, I came to realize that my ATO somehow created a siphon and dumped almost 10 gallons of fresh water into the system. My SG dropped to 1.020. Should I thank Wiggles for being a tyrant? Now, I can correct this issue.
I think Leo is happy to be sleeping in peace tonight. Sleep tight, Reefies....

Good idea to give Leo a break. I went through a similar situation a few months ago with my little Kole tang. It was easy to catch him and put him in my acclimation box and keep him in there for a bit. The "tyrants" were my O. clown and a three-stripe damsel. The entire gory saga is on my build thread. I ended up capturing the O. clown and the damsel and both went to live in timeout in my empty BioCube (well, it had water). It gave the KT time to gain some confidence in the 90 without being terrorized. Both were successfully rehomed into the 90 and everyone plays semi-nicely together now.

I have always been able to net the clown, but the damsel was another story. I was able to catch the damsel after he went after the KT and accidently found himself in the acclimation box. Oops! I was able to shut the lid before he got away....got a great cardio workout in at the same time. ;Hilarious

Another idea would be a mirror. I have taped a mirror to the side of the tank and caught a fish or two that way. I guess they can't stand the competition on the other side of the mirror.

@fishguy242 has a good idea with the red flashlight. My clown is always in the same spot at night. Might be easy to "ambush" the clown by slowly sneaking up with a net. I've used a red flashlight for years to spy on the tank at night.

I hope all ends well with the clowns and the storm!

Good morning! I'm on the insomnia train this morning. Happy it's a short week, though. Thoughts and prayers to the Floridians out there, my home state. I grew up in the Miami area and still have family in Jacksonville. Hopefully, there will be no major damage or long power outages with the storm.

That is one smart fish - buries itself so deep in the rockwork that only dynamite will get it out. Think I'll focus on raising that salinity this morning. I'm adding 1.045 water a little at a time. Pulled out about 8 gallons of 1.020. Haven't moved the needle yet. Going to have to go bigger methinks....

Keeping an eye on the storm. I'm scheduled for PT an hour away at 1 pm. The high winds are supposed to hit around noonish here. I guess the jury is out if they will even be open. Hopefully, Elsa keeps moving out into the Gulf. It's so calm outside right now that it is just eerie. Bye, Elsa, Let it Go! Stay safe, Reefies!

Wait a 1/2 hour measure and repeat. You get the hang of how much you have to add to move the needle the required amount.

Add it to the socks ... that is pretty genius. Leave it to someone from a town called Hurricane to be prepared for a "natural disaster". Great tip!!

Good Morning All!
Hot (94*) here today and very humid with rain every day for the rest of the week. Guess I’ll fire up the mower and try to get something done.
We are headed to Gatlinburg this weekend for a SHORT getaway.
We plan to walk the “sky bridge” rain or shine and we’re going to an annual artisan fair . Should be a fun weekend.
