A quick question. I use inexpensive pillow stuffing as floss in the filter. I rinse it off first to remove anything potentially bad. It is a 5 minute thing that ends up with me dripping water on the floor, etc. Do you do this? I am hoping the answer is no, because I don't want to do it anymore and keep having to wipe up the counter and floor.

I stopped using floss ages ago. I didn't like some of the fibers getting into my main system. I am sure this isn't directed at me. I just hate filter floss.

Me to, though not recently. It used to say on it if it was safe for aquariums in the era of corner air driven box filters
I guess that time has passed.

When you want to rinse things and not make a mess a plastic dollar store colander (spaghetti strainer) Is a good thing to have.

I didn't even know there was one. Unfortunately, I will not be able to make it. It's probably for the best, since my tank is packed and I would buy a few things anyway. This morning I was trying to decide which corals to take to the LFS to make a little space. Half of my corals came from the last frag swap in Lakeland. I got some really great deals.

There was one guy there selling some of his frags for half price because they had aiptasia on them. I decided to skip that booth altogether.

Same @Just John ... I did not know about the swap. Unfortunately, I have a client that I need to meet in the morning so I'm out. Too bad, I have a condo in Sarasota, I would have planned to visit the kids if I knew sooner. Next time! Have fun!!
