Good Morning!

Ordered a muffler delete for the Subaru. 150 screaming HP. LOL
All show and no go. LOOK AT ME you whippersnappers with your turbos and fart cans.
Constantly variable transmission. No gears. So the computer simulates gear shifts to make the humans happy.
It even has paddle shifters on the steering wheel to shift the gears you don't have.
There was a time when I would have thought this was stupid beyond belief and avoided it.
But it's fun and you cant break anything because the computer just ignores your input if it will hurt the car.

So Vroooom, VRROOOOM. Old guy coming through. Slowly.
We have more than reef tanks in common Ned. I’m also “that old guy” that drives around in something that is much quicker that in was when it left the assembly line.
Both my truck and Angela’s Escape are fairly well modified. SCT 5 star performance tunes, turbo upgrades, etc.
Im waiting for the cooler weather to install a lowering kit in the Escape (1” drop up front and 1.8” drop out back to level it).

CPAP stops snoring. Jill and I both use it now. Sleep apnea is serious business.
My husband tried one for about 2 months. He is a stomach sleeper so was hard to get use to that and then one night the water in the machine backed up into the hose and about drown him in his sleep. He woke up coughing and sputtering and that was the end of that thing.

Good morning. Got my rodi filters changed yesterday. But didn’t get anything else done. There is always today.
Have a great Monday!

I mentioned fire in fixing my stock tank.

Flame Treating Plastics
It's really a thing and can make a HUGE difference to the glue adhesion strength. I learned to do it when I used to build RC planes from blue foam housing sheathing you got at Lowes.

Well since I don't breath 87 times a night (sleep study). I chose to make it work. Yes I have done the water in the tube thing and I sleep on my stomach.

The same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It’s about what you’re made of, not the circumstances.”

A woman called the Colorado State Division of Wildlife regarding a snake in her backyard. “Can you tell me what kind it is?” she asked. “Can you describe it?” the ranger asked. “Yes,” she said. “It’s long and thin. Oh, and it doesn’t have any arms or legs.”

I almost forgot....

Happy International Mangrove Ecosystem Day! :)

That was stuff shoved around to get the 100 gallon tank out on the floor to be fixed.
All normal again

Ned,
I am crushing on your fish room!!! maybe when the wood prices fall i will borrow some of your methods.

Good morning all. Went to the beach yesterday and picked up a few scallop shells for my zoa garden. They work well - I cut a hole in them so that the top of the plug is flush with the shell and then they have a rounded surface to grow on. No red tide yesterday, so we even went swimming. Well, I guess that's all I have. When something really exciting happens I'll get back with you :)

i have a bunch of those from years of kids collecting, what a great use! i am going to practice hole making.

Good morning! Our tanks survived the 8 day vacation ;Woot There was a bit of a surge in algae (GHA & cyano) I had auto feeders going with pellets twice a day, guessing that was a contributor. The only coral that looks unhappy is a frogspawn. Are those sensitive to high PO4? Ran some basic tests when I got home and everything was pretty normal except for a small drop in Alk (0.2). I didn't bother testing PO4 since the algae boom seems to tell the story.

Glad to be home with the fishes and our doggo :D

Late morning, Reefies!
I got the sump cleaned yesterday. Then I cleaned and painted the stand and hood. I also ordered new stainless magnets to attach the false front to the hood. I soaked all of the equipment, scrubbed it all clean. The only thing I have yet to do is remove the coralline from the inside of the tank. I can't lift it and I cannot get it outside to rinse it; so that may just have to flake off. Hubby thinks it is a waste of time to put that much work into something I am basically giving away but it is how I am programmed. Do unto others as they say... I'll post new pictures to the assorted Marketplaces today. I would say that I cannot believe it took all weekend to break down a tank but dang, I am feeling every minute of it today.
I think it is time for some coffee, some salted chocolate covered pretzels and some slippers. Today is a work from home day, so I think slippers count as appropriate work attire.
Have an awesome Monday! @Mike from TN ... Are you sure you don't live in Florida? @Peace River and I are at about 90 right now, feels like 104 - rain expected in about an hour. I imagine @Just John is about the same. @Wen may want to stay in Michigan until the end of August at this rate.

Yes, they just said on the news that it already feels like 110. It's supposed to get hot today, so I may go mow the lawn while it's still nice out. :p

Looking really gray out here right now. I need to get outside and bring the sump in. I left it outside to dry last night after I cleaned it. Ugh - too late - sky just opened up. I jinxed myself. LOL Well, it will be extra rinsed off now!

Wouldn't you like to know?

My evil crab minions guard it 24 hours a day.
Robosump has transformed to filter sock configuration.
A new bung has been installed using JB Weld WaterWeld, abrasion and fire. The tank is full and nothing leaks.
A leaky bung is no fun.
The denitrator has been up one week. It hit zero nitrates in the output today so I increased the flow. That's really fast according to what I have read. No idea what that means.
You aren't running no reef tanks. You're running some kind of mad scientist laboratory, while under the mind control of mr crab.
That looks like a lot of fun.
Good late afternoon morning everyone!

When the crab gets ahold of you, you do what he says. Or else.
Putting up the lightning rod tomorrow. Then I can do some really interesting stuff with electricity and saltwater.
Soon

Well, no mowing got done today. Went grocery shopping and when I got back the sky opened up. Dumped rain then stopped. Now it’s like a steam bath out there. Mow the grass, NO THANK YOU!
Its a comfortable 68* in the house and I don’t intend to go out till it’s time to grille some dinner and turn the lights out in the hen house.
