My walk this morning was so early, the sun was still sitting in the golf course.

I also walked by this church that was built in 1803 so it is about as old as I am. It was there about 60 years before the Civil War. ;Jawdrop

I am so surprised they had vinyl siding then.

There is a grave yard in the back where I walked around. Most of the older stones I couldn't read and the oldest legible one I could find was 1864. Still pretty old but I am sure there are much older ones from when that church was built.

Good morning Friends,

We have new next door neighbors and are so blessed! California natives fleeing their state for a better life.

No luck crabbing last night. Today I’m making lots o traps and going to try different bait.

six years is EXCEPTIONAL, in my personal experience, for a Kuerig.
Morning All!
I agree. Life expectancy for the Kuerig is somewhere around 5 years. You do get a longer lifespan out of them if you run the rescaling process about every other month though.

I live in California. My quality of life is pretty good. Plenty of BS in the good morning thread today. We get the message. It’s funny, but not like haha funny.

Morning reefers. Stay safe. Kooks everywhere.

You might not get too much sympathy from us Florida residents, LOL. They like to call us "the armpit of America", "God's waiting room", home of the Florida Man and more! We know how you feel! ;)

It worked out well. We drove to Siesta Key, walked the beach and then popped in on the kids in Sarasota. It turns out that the fancy Kuerig that I bought them as a house warming two years ago only makes "fake" espresso drinks. (Whatever the heck that means.) They bought a real" espresso machine used on Facebook Marketplace and stuffed the overpriced Kuerig thing I bought them in a closet. She gave it back to me. Now it sits on my counter with all of these extra buttons that I will never use.... but at least it will make a cup of coffee... without a garnish of mosquitos.

Now ... to hatch a plan to clean my DT. It looks like maybe cyano on top of my zoa rock, maybe in a few places in the sand. I think the rest is just diatom uglies. I think the plan is brush, siphon, water change.... but fresh coffee first. :p

@ReefGrammie This storm is a nothing. Don't sweat it. Even the waves at the beach were meh.

So what time are you coming over with those crabs? I'll melt butter....

Is 6 years the expected life span of a Kuerig? I guess so.

Ahh, the Keurig. That beast that captivated my attention the first time I used one in Las Vegas....probably 12ish years ago? I had to have one and got one for Christmas that year. It was actually my best one....the "B" something series. It made really hot coffee and lasted a long time. It seems like all of my replacements have been fairly meh. I always use the hottest temperature, but it never seems hot enough....probably because I put a hefty dose of half & half in my coffee. I recently bought my latest one at Costco after the Keurig #3 bit the dust. Seems like I average one about every four years.

I still love the Keurig. Husband has nothing to do with coffee, so it's a waste to brew a whole pot just for me. I'd probably also drink the whole pot and then I'd really have a problem!

You know, the silly thing says 10 cups but it only fills my mugs 3 times. Though I seldom finish the third one.

ya ever forget to put the mug under it?
no one ever does that....right?
Oh yes.... that's up there with forgetting to turn off the RODI.
Although, my most cringworthy Kuerig moment was forgetting that I had already hit start (or looking in the cup ... or smelling the fresh brewed coffee), then hitting start again and overflowing coffee all over the place. Not as big of a mess as the RODI but this was hot and it was coffee.....

Glad your staying then.

This family lost everything they owned and almost their lives in the wildfires.

So they were fleeing from a fire. If they chose to relocate it was their choice. States aren’t taking hostages. Sounded like hyperbole to me. All too common these days. My apologies if that wasn’t your intention.

With the Keurig or the RO/DI....or both??? We won't even talk about the RO/DI.....my duck alarm works great....if I remember to set it.
rodi doesn't matter for me, besides burning through the resin.
i make 5 gallon blue jugs at a time.
jug sits in the sink while it's being filled.
