a huge flock of geese just flew in.
season reopens tomorrow.
we were supposed to get heavy snow tonight which would have covered their feeding.
high temps and rain now.
looks like i may do some "grocery shopping" tomorrow after all.

Good morning! I'm going to be brave (or stupid) and go to Costco this morning. I'll know it's the new year when I wake up tomorrow. I can't remember the last time I stayed up until midnight...at least not deliberately. ;Joyful Have a great New Year's Eve!

I haven't had a lot to say, because I'll get censored. One side can say all they like. The other better watch themselves.
Just like with a certain White House Christmas event.
People don't want to talk different opinions, they rather fight. "You don't agree with me? You're a bad person!" Even the qt topics on this forum prove this.

Fortunately, not everyone is this way. But, too many are.

I apologize for not creating that space for you to be comfortable. Thank you for sharing and being candid and for being part of this community. We don't always get it right. I don't always get it right. I know this because I have been married for a very long time. I especially know this because I have teenagers. I am willing to learn and I am always trying to do better. This is not your doing. I seen it too many times. Too much conflict in my life. I don't like getting involved in some situation as I see the outcome to be rather ugly. Like I said before the quarantine threads prove this. People can get rather aggressive. I learned to avoid those threads for many reasons.

I have nothing against r2r. I just rather enjoy the conversations. Not brew a war zone.
Talking is great. Fighting, I am done with.

I'll do my best to keep it simple!

Good Morning Everyone!
Just another Friday for me. I haven’t been up past 9 or 10 on New Years Eve for probably 20 years. It’s amateur night for those who over do it, can’t hold their liquor and think they can still operate a motor vehicle.
Higher than average temps here today and tomorrow with strong to severe storms rolling in late tonite. ( Late December + 70* temps in Tennessee = scary weather.) Cold front after the storms and then snow expected on Sunday. Crazy!
Lets put a period on another messed up year and hope for a better 2022.
Those of you who will be celebrating tonite, please be safe.

Ive often found myself in the middle of those heated debates. I often get very heated specially when my point doesn't come across the way I intended it to.

I tend to stay away from threads I know will end up in very heated debates.

I got into a heated argument with another user. over a much different situation. Of course both of our posts were deleted as they were out of line. I am very okay with that.

You can say, I was reminded, there are proper ways to have a conversation. If I can't find a good way to express what I am thinking. I'll just watch and not respond. I seem to lose my temper sometimes.

One big example was a post about keeping a jellyfish in a reef tank.

Best to explain why it can't work and post threads on why it can't work, than to bash the person for not excepting the answer. Anger will never help a situation as such. Because people will do wrong out of spite.

I sometimes see the "rude but true" justification and that's not okay. I am not asking anyone to step into a conversation where they are uncomfortable, but please consider using the report button or reaching out to me so that I and the moderator team can review the situation and take the appropriate action. We don't see everything, sometimes we need a nudge, we don't always act quickly, we don't always get it right, but we all believe in R2R and are working to be better.

Some years I’m in bed before midnight and others I go to bed right after.

I recently went looking for a new car. Have a 2019 kia sorrento(loaded), they will give me more for it then I payed with 102K miles on it.

The problem, find a new one to replace it with. Even used cars are few and far between.

This is the exact reason we bought our 19 year old a brand new car instead of a used one. It was cheaper to buy new than a used one. Hasn’t even been 6 months yet and already a speeding ticket and a scratch and dent in a door. Which she says happened in dorm parking lot and they never left a note! I don’t think it would bother me as much if it was an old used car.

Afternoon All!
Had an interesting visit to the Otolaryngologist today. I got to have a fiber optic camera snaked up my sinuses and down my throat. She found a small lesion on my vocal chord which is causing my loss of voice, swollen feeling in my throat and possibly the dry cough. She is working with my Neurologist to get me off of the Pred and Lisinopryl. Once I’m off of those two meds, I’ll be having a biopsy done. Most likely early Feb. she has seen it many times and does NOT believe it to be cancerous.

Good Morning. Yesterday we went up to Nyack on the Hudson River in New York to visit our kids and Grand Kids. I took my early morning walk as always and it is a beautiful but eerie sight.

I started out in the fog on the water. (this is the view from My Daughters house)


As the morning passes it gets a little better.




OK, not much.

But then, out of the mist, the Tapanzee Bridge starts to appear.


Now it is called the Governor Mario M Cuomo Bridge but everyone including me calls it the original name.

There is also a fake owl out on the last piling put there to scare the sea gulls. The only place sea gulls land is either on or right next to that silly Owl.

It's the last day of 2021...thank goodness, for many reasons. Why do I love this thread? I enjoy your antics and jokes and misadventures and daily activities. I really don't participate much in the forum in general....my build thread is gathering dust (oops). I've actually been on this forum since about 2008 as a lurker...I couldn't remember my old username/password, so I just created a new one when I rebooted my 90 a few years ago. We are in different stages of life with different interests, other than those tanks that drive us crazy at times! Some of you helped me through a horrible period this year and I thank you...you know who you are.

I will keep coming back to this thread because I enjoy your company. Happy New Year! Here's hoping for a better 2022. ;Joyful
