Good Morning!

Good morning! Found out yesterday that one of our sons was in a wreck while we were on our trip. He's fine, thank goodness, but the car isn't. Some guy had a medical event or fell asleep or something (it was around 8:00 a.m.) and took out about 6 cars. Our son had an older Mazda, so of course it was totaled. The insurance company is major low balling him by several thousand dollars and he can't even replace his car for what they are offering. I don't even know what to tell him other than keep arguing! He sent them a comp of a local car he found, which is the same year/make/model/similar miles and was about $3,000 more than they're offering. Any suggestions??

my nephew wasn't so lucky.
same kind of event... someone fell asleep at the wheel.

Why couldn’t the sailor learn his alphabet?
He kept getting lost at C.

Sorry, nothing witty this morning but something rather heartbreaking.

I walked this cold morning like I always do and came down this slightly snowy patch of service road for a golf course here.

I then came across a very disturbing sight. This cat must have gotten his head stuck in this can and must have died almost instantly.

We normally only talk about our pollution killing sea creatures but skim over the land parts.

This will affect me for a long time.

I was asked to delete that disturbing photo and I agree so I did. If anyone wants to see it, PM me.

Thank you! I'm so sorry about your nephew and hope he's better now. The first few cars the guy hit had drivers with worse outcomes. We feel very fortunate.

happened two weeks ago.
one multi hour surgery.
more to come.

i have a hate relationship with cats that are outside, but that really sucked.
It’s the owners who get tired of them and set the unaltered ones loose that add to the feral cat population.

Good Morning! It's a bit nippy this morning at 5 with about an inch to an inch and a half expected. Usually not enough to even turn on the plow trucks for. I remember living in the South and cities would shut down over that much and here we don't even give it a second thought.

Insurance companies are very well known to low ball, especially their first offer. The best thing to do is to just deny the offer and ask for more. Hopefully he won't have to get a lawyer involved. The one thing I learned is if you ever get in a wreck, be sure to say you are hurt. The insurance companies act a lot faster and settle for more money in order to avoid being sued for more.

that and owners that just let them out to go roam for a few.
they put a huge hurt on birds.
when i lived in the mobile we used to find cat killed birds at the feeders all the time.
got in a big argument with the cat owning neighbors about them letting their cats out and them killing birds.
got told "that's just what cats do."

We have a large fox population here. They unfortunately don't help with large raven population which does more damage to the bird population around here. Ravens are very smart egg eaters. The only fun thing they do is eat snowmobile seats.

thanks.

Oh wow, I didn't realize it was so recent! Poor guy. I hope he heals up well and can fully recover.
