I took a walk this morning when we only had a foot of snow. We probably have two feet now. It is very windy so some roads are almost clear because the wind blew it all on my car.

I usually use reef cleaners and the CUC has been okay. Is there anywhere else to get CUC that you have been impressed with?

I think RC did a better job when I started buying from them years ago. I haven't ordered a CUC lately, but liveaquaria used to have a deal where if you bought $75 worth from their CUC list, you got free shipping. I just looked on the website and I don't see that option now. I hope it's just temporary! I always had good luck with their CUC. I probably need to replenish myself and now I don't know who to buy from! Anyone else??

Thank you! I don't mind Florida species. I've found over the years that keeping empty shells in the tank does wonders for the longevity of hermits. Florida people, we love Sanibel Island. Many of my "empty" shells have been tossed into my tanks from there.

Good morning! Up at 5am to start the smoker for a pork butt. Also witnessed irony at its finest - checked the tank and saw my new arrow crab being eaten by bristle worms. Mother nature is a savage lol

It is 11 degrees here on Long Island now and dark. Very heavy winds and a foot of snow and ice on the ground.

Perfect for my morning walk.
I may not be able to take pictures because my battery instantly goes dead in this weather, but I will try.

Good morning! I never did get that last powerhead cleaned yesterday. Oh well. Maybe today. We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and I decided to be completely lazy after that! Good Morning!
We‘re off to a cold start here but supposed to warm to the mid 40’s here today. I’ll be taking the little car to the coin op to blast the salt off of it AGAIN!
I have to go to the hospital in Nashville tomorrow to have a COVID test before my procedure on Wed morning. Really anxious about this thing But I’ll be glad when it’s over. Hopefully, the swelling in my neck will go down and the cough will stop.
Doing a MAJOR maintenance on my tank today. Pull the InTank basket and scrub it, change all media except the BioBalls, tear apart all the pumps and clean them and change some water.

Thanks! I might just wait a few months and try RC then. I'll also check liveaquaria and see if they have their invert package deal back.

I buy occasionally from my LFS, but I've seen bubble algae in some of the tanks. There is NOTHING that freaks me out more than bubble algae. I had a terrible time getting rid of it in my original 46, and so far the 90 and BioCube have stayed clear of that stuff. I actually saw bubble algae on a hermit shell once, so nope, not taking that chance. I prefer ordering from places where inverts are only with inverts and nothing else!

I order pods from AlgaeBarn and they have a limited number of snails, but no hermits. Their inverts also seem kind of pricey.

Good morning. I got back from my walk and it warmed up to about 15 degrees. This is the best time to walk as anyone can walk when it is 75 degrees. Thats for Sissies.





But I can't figure out why someone would feel the need to get their pool serviced on a day like today.

You can't make this stuff up.

Good Morning! It's a toasty -11 this morning. Made the walk to work quicker than normal. Fortunately no wind. We are expecting 1-2 inches of snow tomorrow. It got down to -20 on my days off. I managed to stay inside for that. I've been outside in -50 and I prefer to not be in anything colder than -20 if I can help it unless it involves ice cream. I had to defrost my freezer this weekend so the cold weather was great, I just put everything outside on the porch. I used my blender to make ice cream and also put it on the porch.
