Good Nano (15 gal) DT macroalgae?

Preferably easy to keep contained, good for pods, nice color (hopefully not green), and maybe my herbivores can get a nibble or two out of it

I want some algae for my display tank that won't overgrow, that pods will grow in and that my animals might eat a bit of.

what do you think of blue hypnea? would fish or lettuce slugs maybe eat it?

Pods love hypnea. Little pieces can break off and travel though and grow elsewhere.

I don’t think lettuce slugs eat macro.

Dragons breath is easy to control.

okay, Lettuces eat some macro (species of slug and algae play a role in which one) I guess ill have to see, thank you.

I had the one on reef cleaners that eats macro. Not the one listed as lettuce but something else. It easily outpaced the macro and was killing it (It came in as a hitchiker). Not sure about the ones people buy for hair/bryopsis algae.

All I can say is they are short lived and pumps are their enemy. He was a cool freebee to watch for awhile though.

depends on the lettuce, there are lots of species called lettuce slug, but they aren't really studied
