How can you tell in an acro crab that came in with some new coral is good or bad?
I got 6 great sized colonies the other day for dirt cheap. Because they were dirt brown at the LFS. I get them home and they showed amazing color just by being under good lights and not 6in below a 15k 400w MH like they were at the LFS. I noticed shortly after i got them in that two of them had little crabs inside as well. Originally was like hell yea extra bonus.
One is tiny all white. With a black stripe across its face. The other originally came in on the worse or all the 6 coral. He moved into another one and then i notice small white bleaching spots showing up. Fragged a couple pieces just incase it was STL to help stop the problem. The frags are already comming back as well as the colony now. And noticed he is no longer in that coral. Noticed another one having the same thing. Small white spots. So i looked closer and noticed the crab is now in that coral.
He is gray in color. Very fluffy. Blue eyes. And the end of his pinchers ( at least one of them ) is black. I'm wondering if this is a bad crab that is eating the polyps on my acros. Or if it is maybe just timing on him being in it.
I will try and get a good pick of him when i get home tonight as well.
Do what will make you happy.

Dont risk it. Pull him out and banish him to the sump.
