Just saw this guy for the first time. 2"+ long. Managed to get a fair pic under whites. No noticeable coral damage. Maybe a peck here or there, but I would suspect our peppermint on that.

Is it even a BW?

That’s a good guy. They are a good part of your CUC in my opinion. Yea peppermint shrimp and corals are a no go for me! The one time I had peppermint shrimp they eat several very expensive Frammer frags!

They're all bad bristleworms, if you ask me. lol. But I'm guessing you mean is it a bearded fireworm, or something along those lines? Which it is not, just a regular bristleworm. Which should still be killed with fire. :p
Sounds like someone tried to pet one! Lol They are great scavengers in my opinion, as long as they stay under control. Most wrasses will help keep them in check.

Haha! I haven't had that particular pleasure yet, thankfully... I just can't deal with them. There are very few things in this world on my "NOPE!" list, but they are one for sure. Especially after I bought a piece of Florida rock from a very shady LFS, for a tank I had about ten years ago. About six months after that, I happened to walk in right as the moonlights kicked on, to witness about two dozen of those things cruising around the tank, a few of them being over two feet long.

Oh, I agree 100% that they're harmless. That being said... Dracarys.

Lol! I can understand. These things freaked me out at first.

I took one out a week ago. Touched it's spines and did not get stung. At all. But I have working man's hands. Beneficial scavengers to me.

Ty all. I'd be just as happy to not have them, but will live and let live for now. Freaky how many things are in there I did not buy (on purpose), particularly considering I only introd maybe 12 lb of immature aquacultured LR.

These start life as super tiny worms. I'll see if I can get pic of a baby tomorrow. The babies really like to squeeze between the frag rack and tank glass in my tank.

What is this worm and is it good or bad? I took a video of it but I can’t attach it. It is only half an inch long and I have seen several in the last few days. They always crawl up the rear glass an inch or two then turn around and go back to the sand.
