Trying to target feed my corals today with Reef Roids. Gyres and main pumps were off, so minimal flow in tank. My acro did this. Is this good/bad/indifferent? “snot” has been 12-18” long from coral (guess) . Pretty much cleared once pumps turned back on.

Never seen this before.

Looks to be sliming up from being irritated. I'm guessing it doesn't like the reef roids you gave it.
That sucks, but I was suspecting that. I normally broadcast some RR 1-2x a week, but was trying to target feed most of the corals today. Only one that had a negative response.

That's usually a stress response. Acros are really sensitive to changes in water parameters. Did you siphon away the roids it didn't eat?

I feed my corals in a 2-3 step process, with filters and skimmer off, first dosing the tank with Red Sea Reef Energy Part A & B to get the corals ready for feeding (also testing Polyp Lab Polyp-Booster), then broadcast feed a diluted solution of Reef Roids and target feed acros, montis, Goniopora, alveoporas and the like. Last, I turn off all flow and target feed LPS, leaving the flow off for 15 minutes. Anything not eaten in that time gets suctioned away, and filter, return pump, skimmer, and wave makers all get turned back on.

I also feed phytoplankton every morning and zoo plankton twice a week.

The only coral that I've had send out that line of stress slime was a green mushroom that came in bad shape, detatched within a day, and went to mushroom heaven. It was also the first coral I added — I haven't had an issue since, and my corals are all happy.

And I simply feed my corals fish poop and pee. lol

When you reach advanced reefer stage, you'll realize corals don't need all that stuff, and feeding your tank, and not individual animals, is way easier and better overall.

Someday I may be as advanced as you, but hopefully not as condescending.

I bought a small bag of Reef Roids. I realize what your are saying and what I"m seeing from some of the high end growers. Once the bag is done, probably done with it. Plus it tends to bump my PO4 numbers.
