Would you put xenia and mushrooms on the same rock island, as they are both invasive?

LOL, not saying it will happen. It can though. I have never kept xenia, however I have had mushrooms grow over other invasive species.

My mushroom killed my xenia

Hi all, I have a 13.5 gallon nano tank that has about 30 mushrooms in it. They are mostly in 1 area. How do you keep them from spreading and killing my other corals? My poor Xenia died after a mushroom laid on it. Other then removing the mushrooms, or my other softies, what else could be done?

Personally I would. There are things you might be able to do to discourage the invasive behavior, however these 2 are are tough to slow down.

The xenia may stay isolated but I have experienced mushrooms detaching and floating to a new spot.

Red mushrooms won't kill xenia. You can put them together if you want but i wouldnt do it. Xenia looks best in low flow areas and mushrooms multiply and move like crazy in low flow areas. While mushrooms can never be completely contained you can do it best if you put them in high flow areas with high light. They reproduce slower and will rarely move in that situation.
