From what I can see it looks like a bristle worm. Good member of the CUC.

Clean up crew. They are scavengers and eat detritus. They can get to places snails and crabs can't. They are reef safe, including fish.

Yes! Good cleanup crew member. Just be careful, they can give you a kinda of a burn like annoying sting if you handle them with bare fingers.

3-6". I have probably 30-40 of them in the my system. They come out when lights out. Eating and cleaning up what the fish/corals/inverts left behind.

Their numbers self regulate depending on available food. I have never worried about their numbers.
