Cycled my tank for 2 months before adding anything. One month was in darkness. Now starting last week I have this green algae growth. Try to knock it off with a brush but no good.
So is this good algea or bad algae? And what causes it?
Thanks!

Perfectly normal part of the new tank maturing process :) As the tank ages, you're going to see a whole bunch of colors :) It'll go away on its own.

Welcome to R2R and to a beginning of a new journey! Ask away someone will always help you with what you need and if nobody has the answer someone will help you figure it out!tank looks great I look forward to see more pictures in the future. Good luck!

Algae is normal in a new tank. What would be really troubling would be having no algae.

Since the rock could release some kind of NO3 and your tank is new, it is normal, keep parameter in check, No3 and Po4 especially, when the tank is mature, it is not a big deal
