Long time lerker and reader, I should start a tank build thread with some pics one of these days. I came home from being out of town for the weekend and the Girlfriend showed me the new additions to the tank.... Not sure if these are good or bad. The first pic is of a white furry ball looking thing on a rock. there is some sand too on the rock in the pic next to the furr ball. The second is some little clear guys that are all over the front glass of the tank. There are no fish in the tank (waiting my 76 days after either ich or velvet took my clowns super fast) so its just a few frags, my anemone, and my cleaning crew (crabs, snails and a shrimp.) Im going to run all the test tonite and see what my parameters are, I do know temp sits at 78.5. It only fluctuates a couple degrees tops. My tank is 6 months old at this point. So i still consider myself a newb and am likely to mess things up on the regular, I do read alot though, mostly on this site learning as much as I can. Thank you for taking the time to look at this and for the feedback. Let em know if you need more info, ill post parameters tonite.

IM AIO 25 gallon Lagoon sand bottom
kessil a360we
eshopps protein nano skimmer (unplugged since I dont have any fish currently)
im custom caddy
neo-therm heater
autotopoff.com auto top off with a 10 gallon tank.

Thought your GF added livestock while you were away! lol

That white fuzzy thing looks like a sponge of some sort... maybe a pineapple sponge , if so it’s safe

Not sure what kind of critter is in the 2nd photo .....not liking the looks of it but would let others chime in for ID

Thank you all for the help, its awesome to have a community like this.

@MnFish1 I saw about 20 i would say. they are small, but you can notice the spots from across the room.

@Tuan’s Reef she knows she has to wait until august before she gets to pick new stuff for the tank.

will the isopods die off or are they a permanent new addition? and how to I keep from getting them again? Im waiting the 76 days until I add fish again, rookie mistake early on caused that, and 2 clownfish so im being extra safe this time.

Isopods and other pods is good for your tank! They eat detritus , get eaten by your bigger livestock’s as live food . They are beneficial in many different ways . Population is controlled by how much you food and nutrients in the water along with other inhabitants eating them.

Micro fauna is what reefers call them I think
