What are some good powerheads for a mixed reef that doesn't empty my pockets.

I have a Jebao WP-40 and a vortech MP-40. The Jebao puts out more water, by far. The only advantage I see in the Vortech is that I can easily program it using the Apex Fusion, wirelessly.

Lol, someone sounds bitter. ;)
Yeah...I hate Korallia's. I had one of them that was sizzling where the cord broke through the water surface one time. I don't know what caused it, but I actually heard it and that's how I found it. I have had good luck with Jebao so far. Had one controller go bad, but they're cheap.

another reason I hate korallia... they had the problem starting up backwards, and their supposed fix for it didn't work well at all. Every time I tried to put one on a wavemaker, they wind up blowing the impeller and front housing off into the tank....not to mention all the noise they make on startup.

I am getting 2 Rossmont mover 4100's with the controller for my new 240g. I've heard good things about them and pretty budget friendly.
I also purchased 2 4100's with the controller. I also heard great things. Love the fact that I don't have extra power supplies to deal with. Controllable AC pumps.

As best I can tell jebao are really nice for 1/10th the price, can connect them to your apex if that's your thing.

I'm with the jebao crowd. RW 15's push my water very well in my 125. Running them at 60% alternating. For the price, money well spent going on three years now.

The only thing bad about them is their controlers, they never stayed in sync for me. Replaced the controllers for a JB wave controller about a year ago. Two pumps can run on one and can customize flow patterns and speed using Bluetooth connection through a smart phone. Changed everything and now I love them!

Following this thread as I'm trying to figure out what to put in my biocube 29.

I've been looking at the Jebao QP-5 and the Tunze Nanostream 6045.

What do y'all think of these options? Should I look at switching to a different Jebao?

I have Sicce Voyager nano in both sizes now and they're quiet and reliable. They move water and it's a wide stream, not super concentrated.

That being said I eventually plan on upgrading to Jebao of some sort or Rossmont.

Jebao is great they are inexpensive and put out nice flow they are cheap but don't last long they break down.
Mp 40 ecotech are great they cost more but do they really? people don't blink an eye when they see pumps for sale with manufactured dates 7 years old.
I would never buy used jaebo or used heater just because you don't know how much life they have. With ecotech that's not the case they keep going and you can sell them once you are done using.
