Good return pump

Even my Quiet One is so quiet I can't even hear it running unless I literally shut off everything else in my house. Even though I have an open stand and even when I'm working in the sump. My HVAC is louder. ;)

Most pumps should be very quiet if installed correctly. "Noisy" means something is broken or mis-installed. But some like the Sicce's and Quiet One's are extremely quiet. I don't know how much more quiet one could get.

It would be interesting to see someone bring over a comparable DC pump and a sound meter.

Eheim or Tunze...why do you need a DC pump for a 50 gallon tank? German pumps run forever and are low power consumption. The Porsche of water pumps.

Surprised eheim not brought up more often, I'm old school and have been running them from the beginning and they are bulletproof, never had one fail on me , I've had a 1262 running for 10 years

I don't plan on changing and not sure why peeps would want a DC pump as a return pump

My guess is new toys that can be adjusted with other toys. :) but with that comes cost that I cannot justify.

I also have an Eheim for 12 years and still running strong.
DC pumps are a new trend. Having said that they have their place in the hobby eg internal flow pumps or closed loops. However you cannot beat the reliability of an AC .
