This was a hitchhikers on today's order need to know if it is safe..reef

I looked thru my very old threads from a diff forum - no one was able to ID it, it looked very similar to yours. I'm not sure its a banded trochus bc the shells looks to be narrower and pointier - most pics of banded trochus have shells slope at at gentler 45 - 60 degree angle but this looks like its a lot steeper from the pic?

below is a pic mine - it didn't touch any of the corals and never grew to the normal banded trochus size - stayed at about 1/2 inch max. did its thing and then donated its shell to a baby hermit about 1 year later.
