Any suggestions on good starter corals? Will be our first time having them and looking for a few pretty corals that are easy to take care of. Any suggestions and knowledge would be great! Btw running a 55 gallon with a seaclone 150 skimmer, filstar xp3 filter, 2 hydor 1500 circulators, Current satellite marine LED system.

My boyfriend handles the parameters but from what he has said the water is "perfect" in parameters but the water just runs a little warm (80-83)

Just back the heat down to 77-78 maybe get a mini fan and have it blow on the glass or on top that will help but you should work. But just try something cheap to start out with and see if it makes it then you can start getting whatever you want. Good luck!!

Um New Started WITH Mushrooms and jumped to trumpets couple zoas and a torch ☺

What type of Reef are you most interested in or attracted to ? SPS, SPS with LPS, LPS with SPS, LPS with Softies or Softy primarily ???
From here we all can suggest some great starter corals that are colorful and hardy to begin with.

Cheers, Todd

Green star polyps, Pulsing zenia, Toadstool leathers, Zoas, Mushrooms, etc should be fine. If you do LPS you may want to put it higher up in the tank. That light is a little on the weak side for LPS in my opinion.

Cynarina and candy canes are great starter corals. They're hardy, colourful, cheap, you can see the growth quite easily and they won't become a pain to get rid of if you change the direction of the tank somewhere down the line.
Mushrooms and Xenia are fun to begin with and are a good coral to learn to frag with, but in the right conditions they can take over a tank and be a pain to get rid of.

We went to King of Corals last night and after talking to one of the guys there, he informed us we should wait on coral and get fish first. After having fish for about two weeks or so then we should start with corals also so we decided to listen and wait on that. Bought 2 Clarkii clowns and a couple astrea? snails.

My biggest concern with your setup is your lighting. You have led that are 1/4w each. You can probably keep corals, but you will need them in the upper portion. Some leathers would probably go really well in there. Just be careful to not add leathers that can spread rapidly and become problematic, like Kenya tree

you need to make sure the lawnmower has algae to eat or is eating other foods. They can slowly starve if there's not a lot of algae present to consume.
