I have two different 29 gallon stands. One for my freshwater and one for my reef tank.
The one for my freshwater is definitely the sturdier of the two, but it doesn't really have much space for equipment. I mean it does, but instead of the equ5sitting in the bottom of the stand, it would sit in a self 4 or 5 inches above the bottom. Amd it has been like 12 years since I set that one up, so I can't exactly remember the weight limit the shelf can hold.
The one on my reef tank, has much more room for equipment underneath the tank, but keep in mind it is holding up the top of the stand from the front and sides. No back support. That said, I have not seen any issues with mine bending or buckling or anything. Though if I ever get the chance to reinforce it in the future, I probably will, just for the added peace of mind.
Btw, this is what I have for the reef tank
This is pretty much what I have for my freshwater (same design, but mine is black. Also I think mine was from Top Fin, but I can'treally remember or find the same thing from Top Fin).
