Gorgonia blight?

Hi all. We've had our tank operating for about two months now. Minimal problems other than a little bit of green hair algae. I've made a very rudimentary algae scrubber in the sump; we'll see how that goes.
Recently, however, one of our gorgonia has developed an unhealthy looking white patch (see photo). If anyone has tips on what is going on and what can be done about it, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I think the crab is a good guy.

Sponges are tricky, exposing them to air can be problematic. They do better in a devoted NPS tank with some nutrients and silicate. You can try some different food types like Sponge Power, Goniopower, Reefroids, frozen slurry of quality frozen. See link below for husbandry according to LA.
