I bought this Gorgonian from a LFS and was told it was NFS but it is covered with brown polyps. Doesn't that mean it is photosynthetic. I have it in a low light under an overhang and it looks happy but I would think it would be better off with more light?

Please, any info will help

Could be Plexaura flexuosa or purple Eunicea. Need to see it with closed polyps. If the body has a bumpy appearance its Eunicea, if its smooth then it is P.flexuosa. The growth form in the picture does look like P.flexuosa.
