Hello, have this gorgonian but haven't been able to google search for it. Anyone happen to know the name?

Tan Polyps, purple cylindrical body, photosynthetic. Branching in almost a sea fan pattern.

That's a cute little guy. I see lots that look like that when we go snorkeling in the Florida Keys (I have a link to a thread about it in my signature below). I don't know the names of specific gorgonians, but I've kept a few in my tanks over the years.

Good luck with the ID.

Yes, also thinking purple blade/ribbon gorgonian: Pterogorgia anceps. Like diversity of your tank.

Definitely not a purple blade. The branches are too cylindrical and numerous. Most likely a type of Muriceopsis(flavida?), the Caribbean purple plume gorgonian.

Was initially thinking Muriceopsis as well but the purple plumes look more symmetrical compared to this one. Not sure if this photo will help more but if I remember, the mother colony looked more like a stubby bush than a sea fan or gorgonian stalk.

looks like a so called purple blade…don’t know the genus… but really I’d like to recognize that nice lil section of aquascape…that’s trending nice :)
Thanks! It's pretty bare right now as it used to be more macroalgae dominated, but unfortunately the recent heatwave caused much of it to die off.
