Picked up some frags yesterday from a couple local guys, got a “white photosynthetic gorgonian” all polyps opened up after the first day but I noticed a little white ball around one of the branches? Is this a disease or just part of the gorgonian?

They shed a little at times. Also new growth can be a bit weird looking before it forms a new branch.

Ime sick gorgs start looking anemic, and you end up with spaces of just thin silica between tissue.

Also what type of flow? These things want sps flow to stay clear of debris.

Probably a sponge growing on it. Gently remove it. Mine had a black/purple nodule like that and it died beyond it. It didn't bother the rest of it though.
I trimmed it off eventually. The one on the right near the top.

My gorg bubbles up like that, then a few days later a new branch appears. Not saying that is what yours is doing, but it looks like what mine does(different type of gorg, but still photosynthetic).
