I’m curious about what I can grow around this coral. Especially around Paly grandis. I’ve got a nice location picked out in my tank on an exposed rock with good flow and light, only issue is I’m already growing Paly grandis on the rock. If the base of the gorgonia is covered is this a long term issue?

My goal is a “natural” looking tank. Seems like gorgonians are a must. Would you mind posting some pictures of your system?
Thank you

First picture is twenty five yr mature 75G display with reverse flow undergravel filter and cryptic refugium with a mud filter.

Second picture is dual 55G tanks that were set up 2 years ago to cultivate 200 pounds of diver collected uncured live rock from Gulf Live Rock. Several live rocks now have emerging gorgonians, ornamental sponges and hard corals.

The first 2 picture show gorgonions on rocks from 2 years out of GOM. When these two rocks were first imersed in tank there was nothing to see but coraline algae. THESE ARE HITCHHIKERS.
