Is this what gorgonians first look like when they start growing? A single polyp? They look exactly like my other gorgs polyps, so was just making sure. Thanks!

That does look like a gorgonia polyp, wonder how it got there? I have no idea on how they start off .

I've got like 6 of these little things. They do look 100% identical to my gorg. (And the tiny gorg next to it lol)

Its reproducing and this looks more like athella coral or elongata xenia. I have these and I have varietes of gorgonia and these look like my anthellia.

Interesting. It does look like that. Are you saying these aren't photosynthetic gorgs or is it just a coincidence they look very similar?

Not gorgs but are photosythetic as with most xenia type coral

That's interesting. I've never seen a gorgonian that looks like that, but it sure looks a lot like the "mother colony". It also could be a clove polyp, but unlikely if you don't have any.

Good to know. I was told it was a gorg! It came on some live rock. It was really small a month ago.
Yep - anthellia. This is one of my gorgs:

That thing looks huge! Beautiful!

Do you happen to know which kind? The ones I see don't create the white "stick" or stalk that mine has. Probably why it was confused for a gorg.
