Just sharing a few pics of my tank.. transfered from a shallow 30..

Equipment list:
-Deep Blue 80 shallow (48x24x16)
-40 breeder sump
-2 AI hydras
-1 maxspect gyre
-Bubble Magus 180a skimmer
-Speedwave DC return pump
-150W and 100w heater

Likely gonna be about 75% macro/gorgonian/softies.. will have a few montipora and anemones... maybe a few sticks near the top

VERY VERY shallow sand bed.. (20 pounds of sand)... I did build a wall from acrylic in the back that will have 4" of sand for wrasses

I really like it... keeps water moving throughout the tank... very powerful.. i have it on 10% and it's plenty...

There are a few things I don't like, but overall I am satisfied and will likely keep it as the only powerhead in the tank

Awesome. Its a cool looking piece for sure and it seems that everyone likes it so far. Been looking at one myself so I've been trying to get as much feedback as possible. thanks man

Thanks yall.. need some more fish and a few more gorgonians etc... will come together in time..

What kind of sand are you using?
It's caribsea fiji pink... only 20 pounds in the tank.. i painted the bottom white on the underside so bare spots aren't as noticeable
Also, where did you get the gorgonians from. I have a hard time getting them local.
I need to take some updated pics this weekend... I got rid of most of the macro but added 4 new gorgonians that are pretty sweet...

This is the best resource for them is KP aquatics.. they are divers in florida.. Google it and you will see good prices and nice sizes...

Thanks a lot.. it's coming along... still want to add several corals in open rock places, but overall I'm pleased... also still have room for a few more fish... which is my favorite part haha

quick video too

Removed about 80% of my sandbed.. the bottom is painted white as I anticipated not liking the sand... still a deep spot in the back for the wrasses to sleep...

Also took the gyre out and replaced with two mp10wes...

This tank is right up my alley. Gorgonians, rock anemones, mangroves.... love it. :)

Why did you replace the Gyre?

Thank you!

Just wasn't feeling the gyre... limited modes, one direction flow, very powerful (too much) for my tank from one direction constantly..

Now if it had a ramp up and down feature, and I could afford two of them.. no brainer way to go...

Kind of glad now that I have not bought the gyre yet. I may just do the same as you and go 2 mp10. Tank is looking great and congrats on the new fish.

Thanks! Hope your is coming along too.... yea if I was running SPS dominant I would have prob kept the gyre... but I prefer flow from multiple directions for softies and anemones...
