He’s in QT now , but the markings changed today and maybe they look more familiar to someone now. The first pic is from yesterday kinda like lines and today it’s more of a solid bruise with a white spot on the fin the size of a pencil eraser right where it touches the mark on the body. If it looks familiar to anyone now please let me know

This looks like a bacterial infection that's getting worse.

Do you have him in QT? Using Furan-2 + Kanaplex + Metroplex would be your best option here.

Yes he’s in qt, that’s the exact route I’m going with. I t was mentioned earlier also. Any ideas what could have caused such a thing? Adding a new coral? Rearranging the tank? Stress? It came on overnight so quickly. Thanks for your help @Humblefish

Harmful bacteria are almost always present in the water column, unless you are constantly running a UV or diatom filter to zap them out of the water. Or a healthy immune system will usually keep harmful bacteria at bay. However, if a fish is injured and/or immune system compromised, those bacteria attack and an infection can ensue. It’s the same concept as a human getting cut, and using Neosporin (or some other antibiotic cream/antiseptic) to ward off infection. Or how those of us with a weakened immune system are more susceptible to infection, and oftentimes require the aid of antibiotics in order to overcome it.

Well put, makes perfect sense when you put that way. He’s gonna get the treatment he needs and hopefully be back in the dt soon. Thanks again for you help @Humblefish
