So I’ve been building up my zoas and paly collection for the last 3 months. For the most part all my zoas are doing great...fully open and making babies. But I’ve got a couple frags where the outer “skirt” (don’t know how else to describe it) stays folded in while the face of the zoa is open. Anybody had this happen and any idea why it happens?

Hey! Not an expert lol but I find that a dip and placing them in lower light or higher flow or mixed can help...

Yeah I agree. I dipped one a couple days ago and that seemed to fix that problem but tried the same thing on another zoa and it didn’t work so I was wondering if it was a fluke. I’m constantly moving the zoas around trying to find their “happy place” lol. As always thanks for the input Oscar!

Sometimes you just need to give them time to adjust to the place that you have homed them at. I usually see that behavior when they are new, I moved them, or something is starting to go south with them.

no problem! Yeah I struggle with it too ! As my collection grows I start to notice how different the care requirements are for each strain of zoa, it’s crazy, people say it’s the easiest coral, once you get to more varieties you find out it’s kinda challenging! Best of luck!
