I just got this tank, was thinking of doing a fowlr tank or just softies at most. It has a top that's glued down(should I remove that and try to make it rimless?). Should I even bother with restoring filter or just get a new one?

I think that middle bar helps with the bowing. I would not mess with it personally.

What about cutting out the center and leaving the edges? That way I can get into there easier.

If you would like a rimless tank go get one, this is not going to be one of them. That's thin acrylic and the only things between your water staying in the tank vs. enjoying the floor is that bracing.

Buff it out and I'm sure the tank will be fine, but if you want rimless you need thick glass.

Yes I would not cut remove anything it was designed that way for a reason work wit what you got. Will be a nice tank .. yes junk the filter ..

Okay, I'll leave the lid and figure out what to do with it. Whether that be qt, or a second tank.

Best way to get the salt out from inside? Distilled water? And when you say buff the tank. Should I use like a car buffer? Lol

All you have to do to get the salt out of the acrylic tank you can use a hose you may need to just soak it an use a soft cloth to wipe down the inside USE no cleaning agents. make sure it is very clean before polishing it.. if I was u I would use it as quarantine tank who cares if it is scratched...
