Just got this critter about a week ago and already love it.

My tank is new and immature, but it still does an amazing job of cleaning the sand and the glass near the bottom of the tank. Loves Diatoms, general algae, and just tank trash. Won't touch Cyno or other bacterias though.

Incredibly low maintenance. Despite it's size and cumbersome appearance it does a great job of getting around rocks and coral without really disrupting anything.

I don't have much to compare to, but I think conches might be the best sand sifters. At least on paper. Won't starve itself or have problems with your reef safe fish like say a sandsifter starfish or sandsifter goby might. Doesn't collect things or eat coraline algae like an urchin does. The downside is they do everything rather slowly and in their own dang time. Lol

Let's see em folks! Show us all your conches! They work for you? They do good work? Let us all know! Here is to the conch! Possibly the best begginer friendly sand sifter! Strawberry!? Tiger?! Fighting!? Let us know your thoughts!

I want to see them and hear about them. Let me know your experiences.

Here is the Fighting Conch I just bought. He is pretty limber and quick for a snail. Call it King because of its stately crown on the back and the other snails seem to give it deference. Lol

PUTS... IN... WORK!

You can clearly see my sandbed where it has "vacuumed" over and the diatoms where it hasn't. Just always has its little elephant trunk out sucking up the uglies during the day and digging itself deep into the sand stirring up the substrate at night. Now an invaluable part of my CUC.

You new? Worried about care and hardiness? Need just a good general sand cleaner? Forget the rest, get a conch!
