Got my new Set Up Today. Thoughts?

Hey Guys,

Went to the LFS today and they helped me pick out everything to get my tank ready. It wasn’t cheap but I preferred new equipment than buying used off Facebook, Craigslist, etc. I’m still somewhat green to all this and was hoping you guys could tell me the pro’s & con’s to anything I bought. I know it’s to late if I screwed up but I guess just wanted some confirmation and confidence in the set up we’ll be installing.

BRS RO/DI 7 Stage
Fritz Salt
Ehelm Heater
Caribsea Fiji Pink Live Sand
Fritz Turbo Start
ReefBreeders Photon V2 Light
Trigger Ruby 36 Sump

Of course I got the usual Dry/Live Rock, Refractometer, Test Kit, Wave Maker, etc.

The sump, skimmer and light were all new to me but the guy at the store seemed knowledgeable. Anything you’d add or change?

Wow- he went extreme, although good stuff. . . . Could have sold you a cheaper sump and 4-5 stage RO unit BUT, you bought the top stuff.

Are you selling everything for your move to florida?

I would invest in a quarantine tank with small items, filter, thermometer, things for fish to hide in, etc. Petco has their sale going on now. I just bought a 10 gal for $10. Also, you need the standard testing chemicals. I would buy Prime and Stability to have on hand also.

All great stuff.
Get good test kit.
Use a 35 cal solution with the refractometer, i think they swing with temperature.
Especially nice rodi and sump.
Do you plan a refugium, i think they add a lot.
Tunze ato will keep water more stable.
