But how do I measure the carbonate hardness and the calcium levels if they don't have a color card what am I missing help !
 
Read the instruction booklet. You don't need a color card for those two. I thought the same thing way back when I had that kit.
 
No need for color cards. Once you read the instructions you'll understand. The colors will change when you get to your end point.

The calcium and alk tests are different. Like mentioned above, the directions tell you how to do those test. :)

Read them fully before you start the test so you know the complete steps required. Makes it easier.

When you finish using those invest a little more in Salifert or Red Sea tests, more reliable than API. The fact that you test your own water is great!
 
The API test kits for Ca and Alk are not based off of a color chart but by how many drops it takes to turn the water dark blue for Ca and I think yellow for the Alk test. Haven't used them in a while so like everyone says, read the instructions.
