I have received my Icp results. Currently at work so I’m not able to fully go over it. But with everyone here that has good knowledge of this please let me know what you think.

Are you dosing any trace elements? Some (e.g., zinc) seem high.

You aren't dosing silicate, are you? Do you have issues with diatoms? Silicon seems so high I'm part expecting it is test error. If no diatoms, I'd be even more concerned it is test error. Si is usually no concern unelss you have diatoms, but I do not recall seeing it at this high of a level before. Do you use tap water?

I'd boost salinity a bit to 35 ppt, but that's no big deal.

I have not dose for anything, wanted to wait on the test results before I did. I didn’t use straight tap water, my filters in my rodi system (tested at pool store and lfs) had to be replaced so that could be the issue.

what would you suggest to do to fix those problems?

Here are my rodi results from them as well

I was finally able to sit down and look at the Icp results. Some of the stuff I’m not to familiar with so any suggestions would be of great help. On the website it gives suggestions on what to do, my question would be to that is do I follow that?

first suggestion is mangan supplement per day 1.60 ml for 1 day

second on is change 3x20% of water change and to use carbon.

any suggestions to help me out would be greatly appreciated

It does look like the ro/di is a big source of silicate.

Was the water 0 ppm tds?

I might add a second DI after the existing one.
I have not tested yet for the new filters, that is the plan tonight after I get back home. I am running a 6 stage rodi system at the moment which has 2 di filters on it. Would/should I still add another?

I started the tank with instant ocean reef crystals but it got hard to find so I switched to Red Sea blue bucket. When the test samples were taken it was still all instant ocean
Thanks, I'm just surprised that some of the traces are elevated if you're not dosing trace element additives.

Their advice to do water changes and add carbon is to reduce some of those levels, but I think just normal water changes with Red Sea Blue should correct them when you find the problem with your source RODI water.

FWIW, I've found Manganese to be surprisingly helpful with growth for some of my Coral (especially my Goni's), when supplemented daily. However every tank is different and it may make no difference in another tank.

I had to replace my filters in my rodi system, done a complete change. So now it comes out at 0 tds so hopefully that is a sign of going in the right direction.

I’ll be honest tho everything in my display looks really happy all the corals are opening up and growing faster than what I’ve seen when they were in my last tank that sprung a leak. All fish are swimming around and showing no signs of distress, they always come to the front when I go look at them.

I plan on doing a test in the morning just to see where my numbers are currently before I go dosing anything or water change.

I had silicate in my RODI also. I changed to a spectrapure silicate buster DI filter and now have 0 silicates.
