Hello guys! I got 5 new frags today and I'm very excited about them. I just wanted to list them so that, if anyone has any tips for any of them, they could give me some advice!

1. Green star polyp
2. Red plating montipora
3. Favia coral
4. Acro coral
5. Sun coral (I have heard these are more difficult to take care of, but I have a lot of shady spots in my tank where I think it will be happy. Would brine shrimp feedings be sufficient? I also have reef roids. My biggest concern is a nitrate/phosphate spike).

Edit: I see my sun coral peeking out already, how pretty!!!

Update: they wrote acro on the bag, but that's definitely not what it is. It's not branching, and looks more like a Trachyphyllia.

First advice ..
always research proper care prior to purchasing new livestock !
2) depending on the age of the tank the acro , monti and especially the sun coral might not make it long term .

sun corals are nps .
they require regular feedings !
Acro will require stable parameters .

I definitely did research before I got them! I knew the things I wanted when I walked in the store, but still got some help from staff. My tank is around 1.5 years old, which I thought was decently established. It will be 2 years old in January.

If they can't I.D their own corals then I wouldn't trust their advise either. Brine shrimp has low nutritional value. Mysis is far better. Keeping a healthy sun in a mixed reef with what might be Acropora is not an easy task even for seasoned reefers. GSP are like weeds, very invasive. Place them on an island unless you want to frag them off of everything. Favia are extremely aggressive. Place them away from other corals. It's best to start out with one type of coral (typically softies) to see how they fare and go from there instead of adding the whole gammet (softies, lps, sps, and especially nps)at once. I'd do some more research.

I’m so confused …….

they labeled a coral frag as a acro but it’s not branching .
Trashy are brain corals . Lps such as donut corals
Doesn’t resemble anything like acro or branch
As mentioned above . Brine shrimp has little to no nutrition but

Acclimate well and introduce under low light
