That is so cool we gotta figure out what light spectrums bring out what colors!I don’t know if you can tell, but this USED to be a full solid blue.
White! (or all of them) In nature, they handle low tide white direct sun! That is so cool we gotta figure out what light spectrums bring out what colors!
I think I definitely get what you’re saying here are some pics of the different shards of green I get I’ve seen almost all the colors I get in haddoni also in gigs why I firmly believe red gigs are more common then we think they just get lumped in with the big red haddoni abs we don’t get many of those most reds get shipped out to Japan and EU the United stars sees very little of them so reds are really not rare in the wild just in us trade lol I even have a neon green gig with purple tipsWhite! (or all of them) In nature, they handle low tide white direct sun!
...So I was thinking about how you said you’ve gotten different shades of green shipped in. And I can only tell my experience and my opinion. My opinion is I think you’re right, with haddoni, that there are different greens, different shades, in that I’ve had some haddoni be fluorescent lime green, and some a dark green and a couple in between. Care and light didn’t color shift them, much. And I’ve had both with gigs too, light and dark green, but the difference I’ve had (my experience, which might not be reality, just what happened in my hap hazard water stability history) But with gigs, I was able to turn dark green gigs with high light (turn to yellow) and lack of light over time could turn darker green. I got a dark green gig (I posted a pic on RC probably a decade ago) from a guy that had it in a 29 gallon biocube for 2 years he had it in that tank, that was a stunning deep dark green. It got lighter in my tank with higher light.
I don’t know if any of this makes sense, but in a nutshell, I think haddoni shades of green don’t change near as drastic as gigs, but come naturally I’m different shades. Haddoni seem to have an array of green colors they are natural native, or DNA driven (algae driven I know I know), light just makes that color more vibrant regardless light green or dark green, haddoni seem to keep the shades...
But I think with gigs, a green is a green is a green, or yellow lol, and all the ones I’ve had have color changed, and have had drastic color changes environment dependent. I know the 2 greens I have now have been dark green, and yellow, and all shades in between (depending on the abusive water I make them live in ). Pete went to Philippines and the pics he brought back had, some we’re darker and lighter, but water was deeper or shallower, or on one side or the other of a rock, a plant, or there seemed to be a little variation on environment with them in nature too, as far as water depth and surrounding location stuff/plant growth near it. Some were out of water in low tide, others were a couple feet deep all the time. So yeah, I could see why gigs come different colors, probably because of collection environment, but I think with gigs they can a be manipulated the same. With haddoni, I think the color variation is more natural and more of a vary, but not able to be changed like a gig.
I hope I made sense and didn’t ramble too much like I tend to do, it’s why I don’t post much
here’s a few pics were you can see them next to each other to compare the colors there’s a few others nems mixed in but you can tell the gigs apart
I hoping he keeps his colors! I herd of a lot of weird colors coming in latelyYou should keep that neon green with purple tips and see what it turns into as it gains or changes.
