It's a shame that they're so difficult to raise, unlike the Banggai.

The male is much smaller than the female, so that's a mouthful.

Threadfins are so underrated, beautiful eyes and shimmer.
Is the male younger then the female?
Are you going to try to raise the fry, if the little male can hold them that long?
Where did you find healthy threadfins?
I’ve had terrible luck with them coming from Cali shipped to FL.

I tried to get a group of 9 but I had no luck, only 3 survived, most refused to eat no matter what I tried.

I won't even try to raise them, it's not easy at all.

The male is much younger, it's maybe the 6th time I see him holding. I feel sorry for him. Fortunately they don't hold the eggs for long.

I have Bangaii's and seen the mating "shimmy dance" several times and my male has had eggs a couple times as well. But I've always wondered how the male got the eggs in his mouth. Any idea when fertilization occurs?

Unfortunately the male was hidden behind the female, but he fertilizes the eggs for a few seconds right before catching them.
