Hi all.. Ok the worst problem I can think of just happend. I have to relocate my 29G cube which I just got running recently 15 miles or so from where I have it located. I have 40lbs of live rock in it and only a few frags and a small CUC. What is the best possible way to do this without killing everything I strive to keep alive?

I was thinking about keeping the rock submerged in a couple of buckets of the tank water, tossing my cuc into a tupperware with some tank water and trying not to disturb the sand as much as possible and leaving it barely covered with water, then just adding fresh mixed water to make up the difference?? the whole process i figure will take me 2-3 hours since im most likely doing this alone or with minimal help.

any suggestions would be awesome

tyvm

I have hade to move my 55 and it's not fun and yes get some buckets for your rock with water and everything else but try to keep about half your water it help to keep your tank from starting a new cycle it is a time consuming process but with proper planning it's not 2 bad and it's a good time to clean everything top to bottom lol good luck and any questions plz ask I am more then happy to help and like I said I have moved mine a 4 times now

yes, keep as much of your existing water as you can- my questions are - how deep is your sandbed and how old is it?

I usually leave a little water in the tank to keep the sand wet and move it that way

So if i can get this broke down and back up in 3 hours i should be fine right?? Also should i just leave my snails in the tank with the wet sand or remove them to a container?

Yeah that's plenty of time it took me 5 to do mine and I didn't loose anything in the process and I usually leave mine in they are pretty hardy and ax long as there is a little bit of water in the sand they will be fine
