GoVols: Red Sea S-400

Freddie, I haven't noticed -- Are you using Coral Essentials as well?

Frankly, I adore the aminos.. Everything else I haven't really tried except the Gro, which is aminos and a few other elements. But Aminos were a stark difference I could see immediately.

Tim,
I'm staying with Reef Energy A - B with LRS Reef Frenzy at this point.

I'd like to try the Black Labels (particularly Chroma +), but their just too high for my budget...

Thanks for your input and will keep track... ;Writing of your build as your move forward with that product line.

:)

Long road and a lot of games to go before I get too ahead of myself. But a true fan always believes :)

Yeah,
But, ya'll already knocked out the Maple Leafs and the Blue Jackets

Ya'll have all four lines just humming along.

St Louis has got to stay out of the penalty box to even have a chance.

This is what I should be doing... but I've been lazy. I wish the Reef Energy didn't need refrigeration. I would add another doser to my system just to add it so I didn't have to remember.

I was at the lfs today for some SPS test pieces. Cheapies. Saw the a b c d red sea kit. And thought long and hard. And decided not to. Maybe down the road for piece of mind. Never letting go of my reef roids tho :)

Rich,
Reef Energy is vitamins and amino's.

The Red Sea - A, B, C and D "Colors" are trace elements. Need to be careful dosing those.
If your dosing something like Triton or ATI etc, for your cal and alk intake, then the trace elements, are already in those.

If your dosing "plain" 2 part, then your dose the A, B, C and D colors to your calcium's intake per day.

(lol)
Hit the S-400 with Reef Roids once a week too... :)

Hello,

I was trying to follow your post about trace elements. For example I dose 1.5 tablespoons of alk and calcium from seachem daily and I’m at 7-8 alk and 440. Based on my math that’s about 200 grams so each trace element should be about 1mg per day. I test often and even doing those daily trace elements I always at 440 ish or 420 roughly. I also dose 20ml of the redsea nopox daily as well. So I do the trace elements because I don’t do water changes often.

But when you meant part 2 where you referring to just the powder calcium? Because granted their instructions are terrible trace elements should be based on calcium. Based on my 1.5 tanlespoons per day (of powder mixed into rodi water) should be 1mg of each trace element. Sure hope after a month or two I’m not doing this wrong.

Hey, Sarah
I meant 2 part like your talking about.
Powder's or things like Seachem Fusion, Brightwell's Code A and B or the Red Sea Part - A cal / Part - B alk.

From memory.... ;Oldman
You dose 1ml, to every 20ppm of your calcium's intake, per every 26 gallons of water (that you hold) for all 4 Red Sea colors.

:)

Also totally unrelated how come I come back to your thread and I end up back to page one? Oh well - this way I'm always up to date :D

Lol!!
Not updated page 1, with the Alkatronic, yet... :D

Hello,

Okay lol so right on that part but now I must be off on the dosage. So my tank is 240 gallons and I have a 40 breeder minus rock and sand volume roughly 190-200 water volume. I have to dose (oops on calcium) 1 tablespoon every day to stay at 440. 1 tablespoon should be roughly 200 grams converted should be close to 1ml per letter a-b-c-d. Maybe I’m not getting where the 26 came from, and that their instructions are super horrible.

Well,

1) Lets x's 26 (gallons) by 7, comes to 182 gallons.

2) If you stop dosing calcium do you know how much it drops in a day?

Hello,

It’s a lot I usually go from 440 to 390 sometimes lower and sometimes 400. But it’s significant if I don’t dose daily and same with alk. That is even worse I will go from 8-6 in a day.

Hello;

So this is what it came up with using 240 gallons minus displacement so roughly 200 seem right. Here are the results from yesterday’s stats, but some days it’s 390 cal amd alk rarly drops below 7.’
