Looking for an excuse/opportunity to visit my dad in Davison, mainly, if you folks are willing, so I can photograph some of the corals you guys keep. You seem to have a whole different and better class of corals than we typically see in the Chicago area.

BTW, I just ordered (a cheap one) a macro focusing rail, i should have it tomorrow.
Ill let you guys know how it works. I want the "good" one, but im not up to spending 500 on a couple screws and metal bars right now.

we are having a rather large Frag Swap on Jan 25th maybe that would work I am sure many of us would be interested in a photo lesson or two even willing to pay out of pocket with in reason of course. if you haven't heard or economy in Michigan is in the toilet. or we could come up with something simular. honestly the only one I have seen that got close to you is a old friend of mine haven't seen or heard from him in about two years used to go by Nikon Guy like to use the same method you are talking about.

I attended your swap last year ... got some great pieces pre-ordered off the club website and also got some nice raffle prizes! It would be fun Gary and it would get me out of a huge Snowmobile show in Minnesota that I dread attending!
Yup, you are welcome here too! I live about 10-15 miles west of Davison, so not far away at all. I'm going to get the studio lights out and try and blind some fish!

Labman, in what city is the event? I'm always willing to make aquarium photography presentations and have done several. It looks like that weekend is open. And if I can help Sara get out of a snowmobile show, it's worth it. I generally just ask that you cover gas and hotel costs. Let me know.

I grew up in Clio, so I know exactly where Swartz Creek is. Nice shots but, yes, you need to get those eyes in focus.
The two-flash technique has lots of possibilities for fish.
